I know this is going to be a somewhat lame story, but please forgive me, as I'm making it up in my head as I write. I just want to lay this down so everyone understands what sort of place they're dealing with:
The setting of this story is a town called Wimbleton. It used to be a quaint, quiet town, but then it was taken over by tourists, Wal-Mart, and the like. Now, fifty years later, the dust has settled, but the students are getting restless. They want out.
All of the characters in this rpg will either go to the local high school, Burnfield High, or the local college, V.F.D. University. Since they all live in the same area, there's a greater chance of them running into each other.
To the west of the school lies Lake Teth. To the east of the school lies the shopping district. To the north of the school lies the downtown area. To the south of the school lies one of the few remaining farmlands, which is now uninhabited private property.
Students are not allowed outside after midnight (with the exception of prom night). Otherwise, the rules for juveniles are pretty lenient.
The weather is generally cold, omitting the summer, and in the more rural areas, it's quite beautiful. There are a few more grungy places in town, but Wimbleton offers such a wide variety of settings for such a wide variety of lifestyles that it doesn't really degrade the town.
Wimbleton is a very eclectic town and offers many activities to their youth, whether they're aspiring artists or bowling champions. Fortunately, Wimbleton hosts an assortment of people of different ages, races, religions, and backgrounds. There are some wackos out there, but there are also some Einsteins.
The mood is somehow different here. No one can ever seem to explain why. Maybe it's the tolerance for individuality. Maybe it's the sense of freedom. Maybe it's the atmosphere of the buildings and towns. Maybe it's the fresh variety. The people are more interesting than you'd expect. It's never a quiet day in Wimbleton.
